Janet & Martin

I wanted to post a handful of photos from Janet & Martin's
wedding yesterday. I was hoping they could see a few before
taking off for what sounds like an amazing honeymoon.

The church and the weather were both amazing. Look at that sky!

This was a fun shot I got to take from the balcony.

You can see Janet & Martin at the alter between the organ pipes.

They were so cute during the ceremony.

The reception was at the Blue Mound Golf and Country Club.

It was one of those rare places that managed to be both incredibly

elegant AND extremely comfortable. It was one of the most relaxed

(and relaxing) receptions I've ever been to. Nice work, guys.

They were introduced from the balcony overlooking the dance floor,

above the much-talked-about flag.

An accordion, a gorgeous chandelier, AND a dip?

What more can a wedding photographer ask for?

Hmmmm...

Well, I picked a horrible time to challenge myself to 2 posts a week. I was sick for a week, and then I was in Texas visiting my parents. I always think I'm going to get so much work done when I'm on vacation (how sad is it that I want to work on my vacation?), but it never happens. It's so much more fun to hang out with my family - watching movies, playing Monopoly, spoiling my parents' dog. A Texas post will be coming soon. Right now, I'll play catchup.

Some photos from my friend Zachary's birthday party:

It was a 50's cocktail party theme - everybody dressed up
and the birthday boy was passed out fake mustaches.
Good times.

A photo my brother took of me and Amy (my sister-in-law).

Kevin (my brother) and Amy. Cute.

Meet my favorite 4-year-old, Phena.
This photo sums up her personality perfectly.

Rockin' a 'stache.

Adorable.

Extra adorable.

Rena (Phena's mom) and Sandy enjoying
the best dessert I've had in a very long time.

My friend Kyle wanted a couple of headshots.

I love this one.

Phena and Kyle pretending to be cats. Why? Why not?

Reid looks totally amused, and he hasn't even
seen the fake moustache stuck to her hair.

Phena was telling Megan and Zachary how they should dance.
They were doing EXACTLY what she said,
and this was how it turned out.

Phena frustrated with her students.

Megan and Phena getting ready for a production of "A Chorus Line?"

Evidently mid-air 4-year-olds are mesmerizing.

I've known Mickey for 9 years. I think this is the first time I've seen him dance.

I love my friends.

My gorgeous friend Kate, completely oblivious to Kyle's smoldering glances.

This little guy slept the whole time. So cute!

The end.

New Challenge

My new goal is to blog at least twice a week. I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but it's always one of those things that gets pushed to the end of my to-do list. No longer, my friends. I'll start with recent shoots and events, and throw in some updates from previous shoots from time to time.

I'll start with a few photos I took of my favorite baby, Kai. He's the sweet, incredibly handsome son of my friends Megan & Zachary. I'm not sure how it happens, but whenever I'm around this kid, hundreds of photos will be taken before I even know what happened. This proved true, yet again, when I got to babysit for him tonight. Here are some of my favorites:

So happy. So cute.

Murphy (my dog) loves Kai. Kai also loves Murphy.
He breaks into giggle fits when he looks at her.
He does it with his dog, too.
Evidently dogs are hilarious to 6 month olds.
These were not incredibly flattering self-portraits of me,
but Kai is so cute and/or funny in them, I'm putting them up anyway.
He couldn't decide which he wanted more:
to play the "got your nose" game or eat my hair.
Decisions, decisions.
He showed me he was tired of the self-portrait session
by trying to take my camera away.

Also tired of the self-portrait session...my dog.
This is what she was doing the whole time.
Jealous much?
Time for bed.

As he was falling asleep, he threw up a peace sign as if to say
"Peace out, Aunt Kat. I gotta' catch some zzzzz"
